The Opportunity:
Western NSW LHD is seeking skilled GP VMOs with Emergency Medicine experience to provide locum cover across regional hospitals and multipurpose health services. You'll manage a broad range of emergency and acute presentations, supported by experienced nursing staff, retrieval teams, and visiting specialists. This role is ideal for rural generalists who thrive in hands-on, high-autonomy environments and enjoy the diversity of regional emergency medicine.
Clinical Environment:
* High-value exposure – manage undifferentiated emergency and acute cases in regional EDs
* Scope of practice – from primary care to trauma and critical care management
* Strong support – collaborate with local nursing, retrieval, and specialist networks
* Flexible lifestyle – ad-hoc or block bookings available
* Fully supported locum – travel, accommodation, and hire car provided
Eligibility Criteria:
* AHPRA Specialist Registration
* Proven experience managing emergency presentations
* NSW Working with Children Check and Police Check
* Australian working rights
