Our Technology team is the backbone of the business, building and maintaining the information technology infrastructure that support Coles Group. **About the Role**:
As an Engineering Manager, you'll oversee multiple squads of cloud technologists, enabling them to deliver high-impact solutions while fostering a collaborative and inclusive culture. This is a hands-on leadership role that balances technology delivery, operations management, and strategic planning.
You'll be a pivotal player in delivering the cloud engineering roadmap, ensuring operational excellence, and promoting a "you build it, you run it" ethos.
**Your key responsibilities will include**:
**Team Leadership**:
- Manage and coach multiple cloud engineering squads.
- Foster high performance, engagement, and alignment with Coles' objectives.
- Lead recruitment and career development for your teams.
**Technology Delivery**:
- Deliver cloud solutions adhering to engineering best practices and agile methodologies.
- Ensure product quality, cross-functional requirements, and architecture alignment.
- Drive technical innovation and continuous improvement while managing technical debt.
**Operational Excellence**:
- Act as a custodian for the technology products your teams build.
- Define and monitor SLAs, ensuring rapid resolution of incidents.
- Maintain and enhance system reliability and scalability.
**Strategic Influence**:
- Contribute to the cloud engineering roadmap and technology strategy.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners to achieve shared goals.
**About you and your skills**:
**Experience**:
- 5+ years leading technology teams, with a focus on cloud environments.
- Strong background in complex system architectures and operations.
- Demonstrated success in agile and cross-functional delivery models.
**Skills & Knowledge**:
- Stakeholder management, financial oversight, and risk management expertise.
- Proven ability to build high-performing teams and foster collaboration.
- Proficiency in cloud technologies and modern engineering practices.
**Qualifications**:
- ** **Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
