Principal responsibilities to include (but not limited to):
* Contributes to and participates in the education of all clinical staff by being involved in departmental/hospital orientation, in‑servicing and clinical competence programs.
* Liaison with the Clinical Midwife Manager regarding education needs of their staff.
* The Specialist Staff Development Midwife will also make a valuable contribution to the hospital Quality Improvement process.

* Demonstrated commitment to uphold and promote the Ramsay Way core values.
* Relevant registration with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia.
* Demonstrated post registration and extensive experience in Midwifery Care.
* Be proficient in all clinical skills relevant to the chosen field (Midwifery) and demonstrate competency in hospital specific competencies.
* Demonstrated ability to educate staff in formal and informal settings.
* Knowledge of work contracts and methods of assisting and facilitating learning.
* High level interpersonal and (written and verbal) communication skills.
* Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently as required.
* Demonstrated negotiation and problem‑solving skills.
* Sound computer literacy in all Microsoft programs.
* Completion of preceptorship program or equivalent.
* Manual Handling/Basic Life support/Medication assessor competence.
* Certificate IV Workplace Training and Assessment.
