About The Role The Director, Digital Health Projects establishes and manages major projects for the Digital Health Branch. The role also manages major digital health procurements, ensuring these meet legislative and policy obligations for procuring and managing purchasing and contracts. The role is accountable for digital health major project governance, procurement strategy, contract negotiations and supporting procurement tendering and contract management.
Responsibilities
Manage and oversee the full life cycle of Digital Health projects to meet departmental objectives.
Ensure projects are delivered using appropriate project management methodologies.
Strategic planning and management of the Digital Health major procurements including maintaining the Digital Health major contracts register.
Manage the replacement, renewal or renegotiation of expiring contracts, in appropriate timescales, to ensure ongoing service provision.
Qualifications / Specialist Expertise
A tertiary qualification in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Management, or a related field is required.
PRINCE2 certification (or equivalent) is desirable but not mandatory.
At least 10 years ICT management experience including delivery of large and complex projects with budgets in excess of $50 million, preferably in both infrastructure and application delivery projects.
Proven track record at a senior level in the provision of government and departmental services and leadership including the successful delivery of large ICT related projects and procurements.
Preferred applicants may be required to complete a police check and other pre-employment checks.
