RoadTek Brisbane Operations are seeking an innovative Survey Support Officer to join the team on a permanent basis.

The purpose of the Survey Support Officer is to provide efficient and effective survey technical services by using your technical knowledge, expertise, and leadership to assist the Surveyor in all relevant activities and ensure successful completion of projects in scope, time, quality, cost and stakeholder expectations.
Responsibilities
Work as part of a team on surveys required for road infrastructure projects under the supervision of a surveyor.
Undertake construction survey data processing operations, and assist in analysing, interpreting and reporting data.
Provide specialist technical support to Surveyors on construction projects.
Set up and operate survey equipment such as Robotic Total Stations, automatic levels and GNSS and assist in calibrations and maintenance of field survey equipment.
Lead small teams in producing field surveys using equipment such as total stations and GNSS.
Co-ordinate and execute timely 'as constructed' CAD plan preparation.
Assist the Surveyor in training and developing Graduate Surveyors, Cadet Technologists, Survey Assistants and Construction Levellers.
Mandatory Qualifications and Conditions
Applicants must possess a current, valid Queensland "C" class driver's licence or equivalent.
Ability to work day and night shifts to meet operational requirements.
Desirable Requirements
Possession of a Certificate IV – Surveying and Spatial Information Services or existing enrolment in a recognised tertiary degree in Surveying.
Previous experience in field surveying, specifically on road and/or engineering survey/construction projects.
First Aid Certificate (Note: Annual First Aid training / CPR provided).
Working in Proximity to Traffic, Parts 1 & 2 (Training provided).
Construction White card (or ability to obtain one).

Demonstrates a good understanding of surveying practice.
Demonstrates a full skill set in surveying to mark out control line / cross section locations from available survey points.
Understands and applies knowledge of data and information acquisition.
Works within agreed priorities and works independently on routine tasks.

For suitable candidates undertaking tertiary education in Surveying: offer 'Study and Research Assistance Scheme' (SARAS) at the 'essential' level which includes full reimbursement of tertiary costs, including HELP fees, textbooks, paid course attendance and study/exam leave (up to a certain limit).
Offer support to undertake a Certificate IV Surveying and Spatial Information Services and progression to Diploma of Surveying.
Further development opportunities may be available, including professional development activities towards the Nationally recognised Certified Engineering Surveyor (CES) qualification.
