Job Description
Far North Queensland Hospital Foundation is looking for an experienced Waiter to join their team. Far North Queensland Hospital Foundation is a non-profit charitable organisation supporting healthcare services across Far North Queensland, including the Cairns and Hinterland and Torres and Cape regions.
The Foundation also operates social enterprises, including cafés and catering services, to support its charitable work. About the Role Far North Queensland Hospital Foundation is seeking a reliable and customer-focused Waiter to support its hospitality operations.
The successful candidate will assist with daily food and beverage service, provide professional customer service, and contribute to a clean, welcoming, and efficient dining environment. Key Responsibilities Greet customers and provide friendly, professional table service;
Take food and beverage orders accurately and relay them to kitchen and service staff; Serve meals, drinks, and other items in a timely and courteous manner; Prepare tables, service areas, and dining spaces before, during, and after service;
Respond to customer enquiries, requests, and feedback in a professional manner; Assist with café, catering, and event service operations as required; Process payments and operate POS systems accurately;
Maintain cleanliness and presentation of dining and service areas; Follow food safety, hygiene, and workplace health and safety procedures; Work cooperatively with kitchen, café, and management staff to ensure smooth service;
Monitor stock levels of service items and assist with restocking as required; Support a positive customer experience in line with the Foundation's community-focused values. About
You At least 1 year of relevant experience as a Waiter or in a similar hospitality service role; Strong customer service and communication skills;
Ability to work efficiently in a busy hospitality environment; Good presentation and a professional attitude; Ability to take orders accurately and manage customer requests;
Experience using POS systems is desirable; Strong teamwork skills and willingness to assist across service areas; Knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices;
Flexibility to work weekdays, weekends, and public holidays as required. Position: Full-time, Permanent Salary: $68,000 – $78,000 per annum
