Expertise in Employment Law is required to succeed in this challenging role.
The ideal candidate will be part of a dynamic team within the Workplace Relations and Occupational Safety Division, providing specialist legal services to the Victorian Government and broader Public Sector. Our focus areas include employment, industrial, discrimination, and occupational health and safety practice.
This position involves both litigious and advisory work, offering opportunities to engage in high-profile matters of public interest. Key responsibilities will include:
* Interpreting enterprise agreements and resolving complex industrial disputes.
* Handling employment-related litigation, including unfair dismissal cases, general protections claims, sexual harassment, and discrimination complaints.
* Providing expert advice on employment-related issues such as managing misconduct, performance, incapacity, workplace investigations, bullying, and discrimination claims.
* Offering guidance on public law-related matters, including those related to Victorian Public Service/Sector executives and machinery of government processes.
* Addressing critical occupational health and safety concerns.
Candidates must possess at least one year of Post Qualification Experience (PQE) in workplace relations and/or occupational health and safety law. To excel in this role, you should have a solid understanding of relevant legislation, regulations, and industry best practices.
