Are you a licensed mechanic / auto electrician OR do you have a passion for all things automotive and interested in a possible new career? We are currently seeking dedicated roadside assistance operators to service the Adelaide Metro area.
The exciting news is our client is open to candidates from both technical and non-technical backgrounds and are happy to provide full training for the right candidates This role would suit a wide variety of candidates including current Mobile Automotive Technicians or Mechanics through to candidates with no qualifications possessing the capability and eagerness to learn and undertake minor repairs and maintenance such as tyre changes, jump starting and refuelling vehicles.
The Role
In this dynamic and customer-facing position, you will respond to breakdowns and emergency roadside callouts and use your exceptional problem-solving capabilities to diagnose and resolve vehicle breakdowns efficiently and effectively.
Ideally this is a full-time position where you will be required to work a rotating roster including some weekends and public holidays. There is built in flexibility to ensure a better work life balance.
Key Responsibilities
* Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults to determine the most effective solution for the customer.
* Deliver outstanding roadside assistance with empathy, professionalism, and speed.
* Communicate clearly with customers to explain issues, solutions, and next steps.
* Respond promptly to service calls and uphold high service standards.
* Maintain vehicle, tools, and equipment to a professional standard.
* Act as a positive ambassador, upholding the organisation's values and customer-first ethos.
About You
* Qualified automotive technician (mechanical and/or auto electrical) preferred but not essential OR
* Non-qualifications however ideally demonstrates a passion and knowledge of the automotive industry and is motivated to learn
* Problem solvers with strong diagnostic skills who enjoy thinking on their feet and finding practical solutions
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a natural ability to reassure and support others
* Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and attention to detail
* Ability to remain calm under pressure
* A customer-first mindset with a genuine desire to help people
* Proactive approach to workplace health and safety
* Hold a current driver's license with a clean driving record.
* Highly regarded would be holding a South Australian Medium Rigid Driver's License (or higher)
