About the Drainer role
* Requires: Proven drainage installation and maintenance skills, proficiency in setting out trenches, levels and falls, and compliance with civil construction specifications as the Drainer.
* Salary guide: $43-$48 per hour plus OT. A Drainer supervisor can be up to $55 per hour.
* Bonus: $200 bonus if you work more than 45 hours per week from Monday to Friday.
* Location: South-western suburbs of Perth.
What the Drainer will do each day
* Install, repair, and maintain below-ground drainage (stormwater and sewer) across varied civil construction projects.
* Set out trenches, levels, and falls ensuring all work adheres strictly to design drawings and project specifications.
* Lay pipework, pits, and connections; coordinate backfilling and compaction processes effectively.
* Identify and promptly resolve blockages and faults; conduct testing and commissioning of drainage lines.
* Operate safely on active sites following strict SWMS and JHA requirements around plant, services, and machinery.
* Collaborate with supervisors, leading hands, machine operators, and labour crews to ensure efficient workflow and site safety.
