Electrical/Comms Technician QLD
Predominantly working in and around the Bowen Basin, local, Brisbane FIFO and DIDO are encouraged to apply, we currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Communications/Electrical Technician, for immediate start, to join our team during a period of steady sustained growth.
Primarily you will work in the Moranbah area on a 4/3 roster with some interstate work on occasions. All works outside of the Moranbah region will include allowances and overtime rates.
In this interesting role, you will carry out installation, commissioning, field repairs and maintenance as well as providing technical support to our customers both autonomously and in a team. In this role you will also be exposed to other aspect of the company such as cooling, secure power, thermal containment, and IT installation.
Primary duties of the role include:
- Installation of fibre and copper cross-connects
- Installation of structured cabling
- Installation of power and control cabling
- Installation of control panels
- UPS installation and battery installations
- Commissioning and fault finding
- Fibre and copper testing
- Understanding of AC and DC power systems
- A current driver's licence and the ability to travel as required.
- Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
To be successful in this role, you will need to have:
- Trade qualification and licence in Electrical
- ACMA Open Cable Registration and endorsements
- Current Australian driver's licence.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A strong commitment to OH&S; in the workplace.
- An ability to work independently within a team environment.
- Be willing, if not already obtained, to apply for a National Police Clearance Certificate.
- Construction Induction Card (White Card).
- Coal board medical and BMA accredited highly desirable.
To be Successful in this role, it would be helpful to have:
- Previous experience working in a FIFO or critical server room space
- A strong understanding of computers and basic operating systems.
