What the role involves:
1. Leadership & Strategy
* Lead, hire, and mentor a team of 10+ bookkeepers.
* Define and manage service delivery strategies, KPIs, and SLAs.
* Improve team efficiency, accuracy, and client satisfaction.
* Align service goals with overall business objectives.
* Oversee accurate and timely financial data recording and compliance with ATO requirements.
* Manage accounts payable/receivable and ad hoc client requests.
* Implement quality assurance and internal audits.
* Coordinate with Payroll and Reconciliation teams.
2. Client Success & Relationship Management
* Act as escalation point for key clients and complex issues.
* Monitor feedback and resolve service issues proactively.
* Ensure smooth onboarding and consistent service delivery.
3. Process Improvement & Technology
* Identify bottlenecks and implement scalable solutions.
* Champion the use of automation tools like Xero, Dext, A2X, Splose.
* Evaluate and implement systems to enhance accuracy and productivity.
Requirements
* CPA, CA, or equivalent qualification preferred.
* 10+ years in accounting, bookkeeping, or service delivery, including 3+ years in leadership.
* Strong understanding of Australian SME compliance.
* Expertise with cloud accounting platforms (Xero, QuickBooks, MYOB).
* Experience with integrations is a plus.
* Proven leadership and change management skills.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management.
* Data-driven with ability to translate insights into actions.
* Ambitious and eager to innovate in the accounting space.
