Key Responsibilities
Threat Intelligence & Adversary Analysis
* Research, analyse, and profile threat actors, including motivations, capabilities, infrastructure, and targeting patterns.
* Map adversary tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs) across the attack lifecycle using frameworks such as MITRE ATT&CK.
* Produce strategic, operational, and tactical intelligence reports tailored to SOC, engineering teams, and senior leadership.
Intelligence Collection & Analysis
* Collect and analyse intelligence from multiple sources including OSINT, commercial feeds, internal telemetry, and incident data.
* Correlate data to identify trends, patterns, and emerging threats relevant to the organisation.
* Manage the intelligence lifecycle including requirements, collection, analysis, dissemination, and feedback.
* Assess intelligence quality, confidence levels, and relevance to organisational risk.
Threat Modelling & Risk Contextualisation
* Apply threat modelling techniques to assess potential impacts to the organisation.
* Identify gaps in detection and prevention controls using intelligence insights.
* Translate threat intelligence into risk‐based prioritisation and actionable recommendations.
Detection Engineering & SOC Integration
* Integrate threat intelligence into SIEM use cases, detection rules, and alerting mechanisms.
* Collaborate with SOC, detection engineering, and threat hunting teams to operationalise intelligence.
* Enrich incidents and alerts with contextual intelligence, including attacker intent and potential next steps.
Technical Security Expertise
* Apply knowledge of network protocols, endpoint security, identity systems, and cloud environments.
* Analyse common attack techniques such as phishing, malware, credential abuse, and lateral movement.
* Utilise security tools including SIEM, EDR, NDR, and threat intelligence platforms.
Operational & Strategic Contributions
* Identify threat actors relevant to the organisation and monitor associated activity.
* Integrate threat intelligence feeds into security platforms and automate detection workflows.
* Develop and maintain playbooks, processes, and frameworks to mature the threat intelligence capability.
* Provide intelligence support during active incidents and investigations.
* Identify and contextualise critical and zero‐day vulnerabilities for vulnerability management teams.
* Develop metrics and reporting to enhance situational awareness of the threat landscape.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement
* Work closely with SOC, Red Team, Vulnerability Management, and Incident Response teams.
* Communicate complex technical threats clearly to both technical and non‐technical stakeholders.
* Support data breach investigations and third‐party risk monitoring.
Key Skills & Experience
* Strong understanding of threat intelligence frameworks, especially MITRE ATT&CK.
* Proven experience in threat intelligence analysis within enterprise or financial services environments.
* Hands‐on experience with SIEM, EDR, threat intelligence platforms, and security tooling.
* Strong analytical and problem‐solving skills with attention to detail.
* Experience producing high‐quality intelligence reports and briefings.
