We we are currently recruiting multiple Authorised Officer/Inspector positions to undertake regulatory investigations and conduct compliance/enforcement action under the Wage Theft Act 2020, Owner Drivers and Forestry Contractors Act 2005, and Long Service Leave Act 2018. Authorised Officers/ Inspectors at the Wage Inspectorate are appointed to conduct investigations, compliance, and education of alleged offences of employee entitlements. You will work in an inclusive environment alongside other Authorised Officers and Inspectors undertaking similar functions across the Operations Group.
Using the powers of an Authorised Officer/Inspector is key to success in this role, as is interpreting rights and responsibilities under the relevant laws and following the Wage Inspectorate's policies and procedures. Authorised Officers/Inspectors are empathetic and can listen to and acknowledge the problems of others. They have the understanding that excellent communication both written and verbal will increase engagement with stakeholders and is central to getting successful outcomes.
Other important capabilities for the role are, the ability to improve current practices and seek opportunities to innovate, whilst delivering high quality and timely investigations. Authorised Officers/Inspectors will be able to provide timely and concise advice on complex issues and to identify opportunities to work collaboratively within and across teams to solve issues.
As they are multiple roles across the Wage Inspectorate across different legislative remits, the successful candidates will be given the opportunity to discuss final placements across Operations group.
