Psychological Support Professional
Gidget Foundation Australia is seeking an experienced psychological support professional to work at Gidget House Nowra. The successful candidate will provide face-to-face support to women and their partners experiencing or at risk of developing perinatal depressive, anxiety, and trauma-related disorders.
The role involves delivering individual, couple, and parent-infant therapies, as well as pre-conception counseling and support for women who have experienced pregnancy or childbirth-related loss. The support professional will be part of a team that provides a wide range of services to promote emotional wellbeing among expectant and new parents.
Key Responsibilities:
* Delivering comprehensive psychological assessment and evidence-based therapy relevant to expectant and new parents with perinatal mental health issues
* Collaborating with healthcare providers to ensure timely and appropriate care
* Developing and implementing individualised treatment plans to meet the unique needs of clients
* Maintaining accurate records and reporting on client progress
Requirements:
* Demonstrated proficiency in comprehensive psychological assessment and evidence-based therapy relevant to expectant and new parents with perinatal mental health issues
* AHPRA registration with endorsements in psychology or accreditation as a mental health social worker
* At least 3 years post-registration experience, with specific experience working with perinatal clients or in a complementary field
* Demonstrated ability to work within a recovery-oriented model, utilising a person/family-centred approach
* High level communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
* Ability to work independently under approved professional supervision
* Effective caseload management
