We’re on the lookout for a dedicated APS5 Strategic Communications Officer to join a dynamic government department. This role is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a knack for crafting clear and impactful messages, helping guide large-scale communication projects and strategies. The position is looking to start ASAP and runs until December 2026, and can be based in either Geelong or Richmond.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and deliver strategic communication plans aligned with organisational goals.
* Provide practical advice based on policies, guidelines, and legislation.
* Draft clear, concise messages for diverse internal audiences.
* Support the development and execution of communication projects, including approvals and launches.
* Build accessible communications that champion plain English and inclusivity.
* Coordinate communication activities, manage deadlines, and ensure high-quality outputs.
* Work effectively with internal and external stakeholders, resolving issues as they arise.
* Act as a trusted advisor, fostering strong relationships and supporting team colleagues when needed.
