About the Role
Our Employment Tax team is looking for a Senior Associate or Manager to join our vast community of solvers. The Employment Tax team helps clients adapt to the increasingly complex regulatory environment, while optimising their employment tax obligations with efficient, innovative solutions. Areas include fringe benefits tax, superannuation guarantee, tax withholding and state payroll tax, with focus on specialist tax and superannuation advisory, compliance review and remediation support, design of tax-effective benefit strategies, review of policies and systems, tax regulator engagement, and due diligence and transaction support.
Your Responsibilities
Contribute to employment tax advisory and compliance work, applying knowledge in Generalist Business Tax or Employment Tax
Conduct tax research and interpretation of legislation and case law
Build relationships and communicate effectively, both virtually and in person
Develop as a trusted adviser with personal drive and ambition
Utilise data analytics and, if desired, technologies such as Alteryx, SQL and AI
Help employers understand and meet Australian employment tax and entitlement obligations (Payroll Tax, Fringe Benefits Tax, Superannuation Guarantee, Pay-As-You-Go Withholding, Workers Compensation)
Provide regulatory reviews, investigations, disclosures and remediation support; assist with mergers and acquisitions as applicable
Leverage technology to automate employment tax functions and provide general employment tax advice backed by tax and legal research
Qualifications and Skills
Experience in Generalist Business Tax or Employment Tax
Tax research and interpretation of legislation and case law
Strong communication and relationship-building skills
Self-motivated, with a desire to learn and become a trusted adviser
Data analytics exposure or interest in technologies such as Alteryx, SQL and AI
