Staff Specialist – Gastroenterology & Hepatology, Lismore Base Hospital

Responsibilities
* Provide contemporary, comprehensive specialist gastroenterology and hepatology services at Lismore Base Hospital and other network facilities.
* Demonstrate clinical leadership and participate in quality improvement activities.
* Provide training and education to clinicians across multiple disciplines to promote quality education and safe clinical practice.
* Respond to on‐call roster duties and deliver clinical care on site within a reasonable time.
Qualifications
* Eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia as a Specialist Gastroenterologist and Hepatologist and/or specialist international medical graduate pathways.
* Current colonoscopy and gastroscopy certification or recertification with the Gastroenterological Society of Australia, or ability to obtain certification within six months of commencement.
* Demonstrated recent clinical experience in gastroenterology and hepatology in a role consistent with the service requirements.
* Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team and to provide team leadership.
* Strong clinical communication skills, including effective use of information technology, and written, verbal and interpersonal communication.
* Commitment to teaching, continuing education, research and quality improvement.
* Availability to participate in an on‐call roster and to respond on site within a reasonable time.
