Your Role
We are seeking a capable and proactive
Project Specialist
to join our Project Logistics team in Australia.
In this hybrid role, you will coordinate and execute complex cargo movements across air, ocean, and road networks—supporting multimodal freight from planning through to delivery.
While much of your work will be office-based, you'll also play a key role on-site during critical phases of execution, ensuring CEVA meets client expectations for safety, compliance, and service delivery.
Responsibilities
Coordinate and execute project logistics across all modes of transport, including general freight, breakbulk, out-of-gauge (OOG), heavy-lift, and heavy haulage shipments.
Act as CEVA's operational and client-facing representative, managing client relationships during project execution, participating in online and in-person meetings, and providing timely, high-quality updates throughout the shipment lifecycle.
Source, negotiate and manage competitive freight rates across all transport modes, ensuring alignment with client requirements and CEVA's commercial strategy.
Manage quotations, RFQs, and tenders via online tools and portals, ensuring timely follow-up and accurate alignment with client needs.
Prepare and present tailored commercial materials such as capability statements and case studies to support business development and project acquisition.
Liaise with carriers, subcontractors, suppliers and internal teams to ensure compliance with scope, timelines, safety and cost parameters.
Prepare and manage job documentation, including shipping instructions, permits, customs paperwork, invoicing support and compliance records.
Provide operational input to the commercial team on solution feasibility, risk assessment and execution timelines.
Monitor job profitability and milestone compliance through CEVA's freight management system, ensuring billing accuracy and alignment with budgets.
Track project KPIs and support post-project reviews, driving continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.
Qualifications
Our ideal candidate has a solid background in international logistics and experience supporting project cargo operations across both office and field environments.
You will also have:
Experience in international logistics or project cargo execution
Experience managing breakbulk, OOG, or heavy-lift cargo end-to-end
Sound understanding of multimodal transport operations
Proficiency in a freight management system for job processing, tracking, and billing (e.g. CargoWise or equivalent)
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to manage client relationships and provide high-quality updates
Flexibility to travel and attend port or site operations as required, including occasional after-hours support
In addition to providing proof of work rights and suitable professional referees, progressed candidates will be required to undergo a medical assessment and national police check.
