The Research Governance Officer is responsible to the Chief Medical Advisor for the efficient and effective coordination and provisions of services related to research governance matters within the South Australia Ambulance Service (SAAS) in accordance with the SA Health Research Ethics and Governance Policy (Version 4.2, ****).

Key Responsibilities: Conduct research governance activities, including advising and liaising with researchers, sponsors, and stakeholders, assessing site authorisation applications, preparing correspondence and maintaining records, managing amendments, collaborating with other research offices, and providing advice on policies and guidelines.
Ensure proper governance procedures are followed, such as obtaining appropriate screening checks, confidentiality agreements, insurance, and indemnification before commencing research projects.
Perform regular monitoring and auditing of research projects, including reviewing annual reports and ensuring compliance with regulations and guidelines.
Manage research management systems, databases, filing systems, and website information, including maintaining records, recording financial and contractual agreements, running reports, and developing web-based resources.
Participate in quality management, quality assurance, research integrity, and risk management activities, including reviewing existing practices, contributing to the development of guidelines and processes, and handling research complaints and misconduct issues.
Contribute to ongoing service improvements, such as sourcing accurate data for reporting and quality improvement purposes, establishing and maintaining relevant contact lists, and creating communication strategies.
