The Role
This Assistant Accountant position plays a key role within the Asset Commercial Team, supporting financial operations across revenue, cost allocation, month-end processes and reporting. Working closely with senior finance leaders, you'll contribute to accurate financial outcomes, meaningful analysis and improvements to systems and processes.
Responsibilities
* Assist with end-of-month reporting and ensure accuracy of overhead GL accounts
* Process motor vehicle revenue, cost allocations and monthly MV billing
* Manage yard revenue and cost allocations
* Prepare standing journals including accruals and prepayments
* Perform monthly inventory management and journals
* Prepare intercompany invoices in line with internal timetables
* Complete Fuel Tax Credit allocation and insurance aggregate reconciliations
* Maintain assigned balance sheet reconciliations
* Prepare monthly revenue, cost and damage reports
* Analyse vehicle revenue/cost variances and prepare commentary
* Maintain asset register (additions & disposals)
* Assist with ad hoc reporting and administrative support as needed
The Candidate
* 3+ years' experience in finance or accounting support roles
* Ideally coming from a big four or business services environment
* Strong Excel skills with exposure to accounting systems (Jobpac desirable)
* Currently studying or planning to study CPA/CA
* High attention to detail with strong time-management capability
* Confident communicator with the ability to build relationships across teams
* Proactive, accountable and comfortable working to deadlines
