 
        
        About the Role
The Medical Advisor provides medical expertise and advice to inform business decisions within the Claims Department.
As part of the role, the Medical Advisor contributes to special projects and initiatives as needed, writes articles, undertakes presentations, and represents members at medical forums.
We are seeking a GP or non-GP specialist on a part-time basis.
Key Responsibilities:
 * Provide medical advice and support for members
 * Deliver ongoing education to members, staff, and external stakeholders
 * Participate in special projects and initiatives as required
Key Challenges:
 * Providing accurate and timely medical advice
 * Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of medical practice and the medical environment
 * Analysis and reporting of trends in medical practice and legislative reforms
 * Analysis of systems and processes to improve delivery of claims management service
 * Achieving a high-performing organization culture
Accountability includes:
 * Timely medical advice and guidance to Claims Managers
 * Proactive approach in claim management
 * Educating members and stakeholders in medico-legal matters
 * Defining and achieving department plans and objectives
 * Reviewing relevant claims for committees
Requirements:
 * Medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) and specialist qualification
 * Postgraduate qualification in medicine, law, or insurance preferred
 * Detailed knowledge of the medical industry and legal system
 * Medical experience and clinical background
 * Insurance and claims experience ideal
 * Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
