Local Law Officer
Council is seeking to appoint a permanent full time Local Law Officer to contribute to Council’s success.

About the Role
The purpose of this position is to promote positive community compliance with regulatory standards, through ongoing inspection, investigation, monitoring, and enforcement of Local Laws and Regulations.
Your role will include:

You will bring:
- Certificate IV in Government Investigations (or the ability to obtain) and/or demonstrated experience working in Regulatory Services and able to demonstrate knowledge and experience in regulatory investigation, enforcement activities, and the interpretation of relevant legislation.
- Strong Interpersonal and communication (verbal and written English) skills to effectively liaise with customers and employees.
- High Level problem solving, initiative, and negotiation skills to effectively address and resolve matters prior to escalating to the Senior Local Law Officer/Manager.
- Established time management, prioritisation and planning skills to complete tasks simultaneously.
- Demonstrable keyboard and typing skills and experience using Microsoft Office Suite and operating corporate business systems.
- Experience and demonstrable skills processing customer enquiries.
- Work outside of normal hours as requested by Manager Local Laws as part of the requirements of the sections on call roster. May be required to attend to Operational taskings outside normal hours and on weekends.
- Legally able to drive a motor vehicle in Queensland.

To be eligible for this position, the candidate must have applicable working rights.
This position requires immunisation against Hepatitis A/B, Tetanus and QFever.
