An exciting opportunity exists for a focussed and dynamic leader to join Millaroo State School's leadership team as a temporary Principal (Level 1) from 6 April 2026 to 26 June 2026.

This is an excellent opportunity for an aspirant or beginning teaching principal to lead a great small school with pride and purpose.

This temporary vacancy is open to Expressions of Interest and any extensions to this appointment will not exceed 12 months.

Millaroo State School is located 70km south-west of Ayr, serving the Millaroo and Dalbeg communities. It sits within a peaceful bush and cane-farm landscape above the Burdekin River.

About The Role

The Teaching Principal role delivers high quality teaching and learning while fostering strong, positive partnerships with families and the wider community.

As the Principal, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

Leading the school community to develop, articulate and commit to a shared educational vision focused on providing quality learning outcomes for all students.Upholding the principalship as a values based, ethical and moral activity.Embed socially just practices in daily school life.Set high standards for student and staff performance.Actively participate in life long learning and ongoing professional development.Form partnerships with parents, other government agencies, community groups, industry and business.Be futures oriented and the legislation and policies impacting on schooling.Manage resources to achieve goals.
