About the Role
An exciting opportunity exists for an enthusiastic, self-motivated and highly skilled Occupational Therapist to join the experienced Allied Health team at Belmont Hospital within Hunter New England Local Health District.
Belmont Hospital is a well-established teaching and community hospital, offering a dynamic and fast-paced acute care environment. With a strong focus on hands-on learning, mentorship and patient-centred care, the hospital provides excellent opportunities for professional development and career progression within a supportive clinical setting.
This role involves working across inpatient Occupational Therapy services, primarily within the sub-acute unit, with cross-cover provided to medical and surgical wards as required, based on clinical priorities. You will be supported by a Team Leader Occupational Therapist and will be part of a collaborative Allied Health team committed to delivering high-quality care.
What You'll Be Doing
* Deliver comprehensive occupational therapy assessments and evidence-based interventions to inpatients in the sub-acute unit.
* Provide cross-cover services to medical and surgical wards in response to service demands and clinical priorities.
* Facilitate safe, effective, and patient-centred care to support recovery, discharge planning, and optimal functional outcomes.
* Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care and enhance patient flow.
* Contribute to service delivery improvements and quality initiatives within the Allied Health Department.
* Participate in supervision, mentorship and ongoing professional development activities.
About You
* Qualified and registered Occupational Therapist with demonstrated experience in acute or sub-acute hospital settings.
* Strong clinical assessment and intervention skills, with the ability to prioritise effectively in a fast-paced environment.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to patient-centred care.
* Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
* Self-motivated, adaptable, and committed to ongoing professional development.
* A proactive approach to service delivery, quality improvement, and clinical excellence.
