ConsultANZ is seeking an experienced Commercial Manager to join a leading civil engineering contractor in Wellington. This company specializes in complex projects and is preparing for a major infrastructure development in the region.
About the Role
You will lead the commercial function, driving financial performance and strategic growth.
Responsibilities
* Developing and executing commercial strategies to support business objectives.
* Identifying new opportunities to expand revenue streams.
* Managing contracts, negotiations, and supplier relationships.
* Overseeing budgets, forecasts, and commercial reporting.
* Ensuring compliance with legal and contractual requirements.
* Leading and mentoring the commercial team.
Requirements
* 10+ years of experience in civil construction.
* Strong leadership and team management skills.
* Background in Quantity Surveying and cost management.
* Experience with various contract types and fiscal project management (subcontractor management, claims, variations, progress reporting).
* Ideally, experience with JDE systems.
