Glencore’s McArthur River Mine (MRM) is a world-class Zinc-Lead mine with a long future. You’ll find our mine in the Gulf of Carpentaria 900 km southeast of Darwin and 64 km from Borroloola. We produce and process Zinc, Lead and Silver from our Open Cut Mining operations. They are then stored and transported to our Bing Bong loading facility and shipped to our customers all over the world. Our customers use our essential commodities in everyday products for mobility, infrastructure and communications.

About the Role:
We’re seeking a supervisor for our Mining team who brings the right balance of people and operational skills to join our team as a frontline leader. In this role, you will assist in managing the safe and efficient operations of the Production Mining team to achieve production targets.

Key Responsibilities:
Uphold strong safety and environmental leadership by reinforcing compliance with Glencore's Fatal Hazard Protocols and Life-Saving Behaviours, while ensuring compliance with MRM’s policies, standards, and procedures.Provide training and mentorship to team members, promoting professional development and a culture of safety.Conduct regular inspections of the mine site to ensure compliance with environmental regulations and safety protocols.Oversee daily mine production operations, ensuring adherence to safety standards and operational procedures.Manage and coordinate the activities of production teams, providing guidance and support to achieve production targets.Monitor equipment and resource usage to maximise efficiency and minimise waste.Analyse production data and prepare reports for management, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.Facilitate communication between different teams and departments to enhance collaboration and streamline operations.Address and resolve operational challenges and concerns in a timely manner.
Successful Applicants Will Have:
Commitment to safety, risk management and continuous improvement, focusing on a safety-first culture.Commitment to continuous improvement and a track record of implementing best practices in production processes.Solid knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations in the mining industry.Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present data clearly.Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills with experience supervising and developing large teams to achieve business goals. Proven ability to motivate and manage a diverse workforce.Production experience in a mining environment with proven experience in a Leading Hand/Supervisor role, with a demonstrated ability to lead and develop teams.Proficient in IT/Microsoft Office, experience in administration duties using multiple systems and knowledge of budget managementExcellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions under pressure.Ability to work flexible hours and in various conditions, as required by the operation.Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (desirable)
