Mary MacKillop College, Nundah is a Catholic Girl's Secondary College with a well-developed and successful music department. We are now seeking a suitably qualified, experienced and engaging Strings Teacher to join our talented Music Faculty, on a contract basis, commencing in Term 4, 2025.
The successful applicant will be expected to embrace the Vision, Mission and Values of the College, have a passion for the musical development of all students, be an innovative, creative thinker and contribute enthusiastically to the needs of the Music Programat Mary MacKillop College. They will have key knowledge of technique and pedagogy for Strings (both upper and lower) in private lessons together with experience directing a String Ensemble.
As a key member of the Faculty, the successful candidate will contribute to the continued growth and development of specialised music education for our MacKillop Women. They will also work collegially with other tutors and the Music Coordinator to organise students for concerts and events, both during school time and at other designated events.
Currently, applicants will be required for a one-and-a-half to two days per week, including an ensemble rehearsal. Availability on a Thursday would be preferable. Due to the nature of the position, the applicant will need to be available during school hours (with flexibility for lessons), before and/or after school to meet the changing needs of student enrolments.
