Recovery Support Specialist
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our recovery services team as a Casual AOD Case Worker. This role provides relief cover across residential and day program services, ensuring a safe and structured environment for participants.
As a Recovery Support Specialist, you will play a vital role in supporting participants through education, interventions, group work, assessment, referral, and case management. You will be based at our residential centre in Fyshwick and day program in Braddon, working closely with the Canberra Health Services DASL Case Managers to ensure therapeutic alignment and coordinated care.
The successful candidate will have a minimum Diploma qualification in AOD, Community Services, Case Management, or related discipline, and completion of 4 AOD Skill Set Units (or willingness to complete during employment). They will also have experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, culturally and linguistically diverse communities, and managing unpredictable behaviours using de-escalation techniques.

* Provide relief cover on a casual basis across residential and day program services.
* Deliver day-to-day service through education, interventions, group work, assessment, referral, and case work.
* Develop and monitor individual treatment plans, maintaining accurate case documentation and reporting.
* Provide risk management and safety planning, linking participants to specialist services where appropriate.
* Collaborate with Canberra Health Services DASL Case Managers to ensure therapeutic alignment and coordinated care.
Required Skills and Qualifications
* Minimum Diploma qualification in AOD, Community Services, Case Management, or related discipline.
* Completion of 4 AOD Skill Set Units (or willingness to complete during employment).
* Understanding of issues faced by people experiencing AOD, gambling, mental ill health, and other disabilities.
* Experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
* Ability to critically reflect on practice and tailor programs to participant needs.
