Looking for experienced boilermakers & welders to join a heavy fabrication workshop in Paget. 10-12hr shifts.

Our client is a Mackay-based engineering and fabrication company specialising in innovative solutions for the mining industry. They design, manufacture, and refurbish high-performance excavator and shovel buckets, as well as provide bucket repairs, spare parts, and asset monitoring systems. With a strong focus on quality and customer service, they support the entire asset lifecycle—from design and manufacturing to on-site service—while leveraging cutting-edge monitoring tools to optimise performance.
Your current role
- Fabricate and assemble metal components to specifications.
- Perform MIG, TIG, and stick welding on various steel structures.
- Read and interpret technical drawings and plans.
- Cut, shape, and prepare metal using hand tools and machinery.
- Carry out repairs and maintenance on mining equipment and components.
- Inspect welds and structures for quality and compliance.
- Operate workshop equipment safely (grinders, oxy cutters, etc.).
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Follow all WHS procedures and wear appropriate PPE.
Assist with heavy lifting and positioning of fabricated parts.
- What you'll need to succeed
- Boilermaker / Welder Trade Certificate
- Driver's Licence
- High Risk Work Licence – desirable
- Ability to complete an overhead flux core weld test
- Ability to complete a pre-employment medical & police check
Heavy fabrication experience is a must

If successful in our position, you will be working on a Monday to Friday basis, with an option to work weekends. Currently, the workshop is completing 10 – 12 hours per shift, and you will be working approx 50 – 60 hours per week. There is an attractive hourly rate on offer, and a weekly pay. For the right candidate, there will be long-term work available for you.
