In this role, you'll:
Working as part of a dedicated team delivering safer, more efficient and more reliable road network performance across NSW, you will play a key part in shaping how people and goods move across our cities and regions.
You'll work closely with cross functional teams to help deliver smarter, safer and more efficient outcomes for road users and public transport customers.
This permanent role will see you contribute to traffic signal optimisation projects, support operational improvements, analyse network performance data, and prepare technical documentation that enables evidence based decisions across the network.
You will build and implement optimisation opportunities, improving traffic signal performance, safety outcomes and corridor efficiency in a complex, multi modal transport environment.
Support the delivery of operational improvements by identifying and implementing approved traffic signal changes as well as collecting, auditing and analysing SCATS and traffic signal data to inform optimisation strategies.
Prepare technical documentation and assist in delivering traffic signal modifications for projects.
Provide specialist advice to balance safety, efficiency and public transport priority needs.
Contribute to the development of project reports, operational assessments and network performance insights.
Your analytical capability, technical problem-solving skills and understanding of traffic signal systems developed across traffic engineering, transport operations or infrastructure delivery will help you overcome often competing and compelling network demands, support project teams and contribute to better operational performance across the network.

About you
You're recognised as someone who is curious, detail oriented and collaborative, skilled at translating technical information into clear operational insights, and experienced in traffic data analysis, SCATS or signal operations, and supporting project delivery.
Experience ensuring work complies with safety, quality and operational standards.
Experience in data analysis, audits or operational assessments for traffic or infrastructure projects.
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with high attention to detail.
Effective communication and collaboration skills to work within multidisciplinary teams.
Tertiary qualification in a related discipline or equivalent experience in transport or traffic engineering.
