The purpose of the Product Manager role is to support, develop and market the Pit Viper and DM product lines within Australia, PNG and New Zealand.
This role must be able to demonstrate the value of surface blasthole drills and automation technology for our customers, set and achieve budget for turnover and profitability and establish and maintain customer satisfaction through personal service as well as the use of the Epiroc service network.Key Responsibilities of the role include:Directly supports the Business Line Manager - Drilling Solutions for the customer's needsProduct ownership of the Epiroc Blasthole product line (DM and Pit Viper series drill rigs) within Australia, PNG and New ZealandActs as liaison between customer and factory for problem resolution, new product development, and continuous improvement effortAssist in developing and maintaining the marketing strategy for the Blasthole product lineContribute to achieving consolidated sales & profitability targetsTrack, monitor and analyze blasthole market share development, including competitor activities and their productsMake field and customer visits to ensure the company is informed of the latest market trends and future industry needsProvide product support and application training to the sales teamProvide technical feedback and information during the sale quotation processOwnership of the order to delivery process in conjunction with factory teamsManagement of customer specific rig specifications and pricingWorks with communications personnel for article creation, expo planning, and speaking engagementsTravel as required to fulfill the duties of the role and this includes travel on weekends or overseas to the factory in the USA, to mine sites and customer's offices within the regionProject management during implementation of field trialsKey Competencies to succeed in this role:Be decisive under uncertainty - make informed calls with incomplete data and evolving constraintsCustomer-empathetic - genuinely listens to operators, maintainers, and site leaders; values field reality over assumptionsAccountable and ownership-driven - treats the product as "their mine on wheels" from concept to end-of-lifeBe influential without authority - earns trust across engineering, operations, sales, and service teamsCommercially minded - naturally thinks in terms of value, ROI, uptime, and lifecycle costPatient yet persistent - drives long-term outcomes in an industry with extended development and replacement cyclesDetail-aware but not perfectionist - knows when details matter and when progress matters moreCurious and learning-oriented - continuously seeks to understand new mining methods, technologies, and customer realitiesAchieve long term sustainable relationship with customer and therefore drive better customer satisfaction - establish plans with a long term sustainable focusThink and act strategically - adapt and respond to change and lead change managementCoach and developContinuous improvementCommunicate effectively and with impactWe offer a competitive salary and benefits package, as well as opportunities for career advancement and professional development.
