Senior Design Co-Ordinator– Retail Fitout / Shopfitting About the Role We are seeking a highly organised and detail-driven Design Coordinator to support the delivery of retail fitout projects from concept through to completion. Working closely with clients, designers, and construction teams, you will play a key role in ensuring design intent is successfully translated into high-quality built outcomes. Key Responsibilities Coordinate design development across multiple retail fitout projects Liaise with clients to understand design briefs, brand requirements, and project expectations Manage and review design documentation including layouts, shopfronts, and services drawings Coordinate consultants (architects, engineers, certifiers) to ensure compliant and buildable designs Assist in preparing and submitting design approvals (landlord, council, authorities) Work closely with project managers, site teams, and subcontractors during construction Track design deliverables, timelines, and project milestones Coordinate procurement of materials, fixtures, and finishes Manage design changes, RFIs, and revisions throughout project delivery Ensure all designs align with brand standards, budget, and program constraints Skills & Experience 2–5 years experience in design coordination, interior design, or fitout/construction Background in retail, commercial fitout, or shopfitting highly regarded Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, or similar design software Strong understanding of construction processes and documentation Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills High attention to detail with strong problem-solving ability Qualifications Degree or Diploma in Interior Design, Architecture, or Construction (preferred) What’s on Offer Work on high-profile retail and commercial fitout projects Collaborative team environment with strong pipeline of work Career progression into Design Manager or Project Management Apply Now Submit your application online, or contact Danny at danny.gillham@recruitsearchgrow.com for a confidential discussion.
