Aquaculture or Fisheries Technician
GOULBURN RIVER TROUT PTY. LTD is looking for an experienced Aquaculture or Fisheries Technician to join the business on a full-time basis (38 hours per week).
Duties to be performed:
- Recognizing, analysing and preventing harmful organisms, including predators, affecting animals, and contributing to developing solutions for their management.
- Investigating and monitoring environmental, ecological and external elements that affect aquatic organisms well-being.
- Evaluating the nutritional benefits of feed by tracking the condition of fishes.
- Participating in selective breeding studies to enhance strains of aquaculture species.
- Conducting livestock insemination procedures to facilitate genetic improvement.
- Delivering educational support and technical guidance on integrating technologies like data management tools and robotics in farming.
- Managing and supporting technological solutions essential for modern agricultural operations, alongside data analysis and reporting.
- Gathering research data and compiling it for studies in animal care practice improvement.
Requirements
· Relevant Qualification or 3 years of experience in lieu of the qualification.
· At least 1 year of experience in the relevant role.
· Good time management skills and able to work under pressure.
Position: Full Time
Salary: $75,000 – $80,000
