Boat Officer Role
This position is a key part of our team, working to ensure the safe operation of vessels on Queensland's waterways. We're looking for someone who can engage with stakeholders and promote a safe boating attitude.
The successful candidate will be confident and able to interact with people to educate them on safe operating procedures. They will also be responsible for consulting and educating individuals in marine environments and maintenance/installation works associated with our infrastructure.
This role requires a high level of physical activity and the ability to work effectively in a team environment. The successful candidate will have strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to interpret and apply legislative requirements.
* Maintain operational plant, vessels, equipment, including pollution response equipment.
* Participate in the development/review of Safety Management Systems and procedures around departmental vessel operation and maintenance.
* Undertake intelligence, investigative, project management and delivery activities supporting the government's War on Wrecks priority.
* Perform monitoring and investigation activities, assisting and leading aspects of the process.
