Public Relations Senior Account Director

DEC PR is hiring a full-time Public Relations and Communication Senior Account Director to be based out of our Sydney office, located at Level 4, 10 Bond Street, Sydney NSW 2000.

The Senior Account Director at DEC is an agency and staff leader and client champion. You are the lynchpin between client-need and client outcome, effectively managing all that is in between. The Senior Account Director is also a solid business manager who helps drive a profitable and well-oiled consultancy. You are a highly skilled and proficient senior communications professional, delivering best in class craftsmanship. The Senior Account Director demonstrates the capability to act with greater maturity and autonomy across all KSRAs.

The Senior Account Director reports directly to the Group Client Director on all client work, and the MD/CEO on commercial matters. The Account Director position aligns to the CPRA’s Senior Account Director professional framework and the Australian Government’s Australian Qualification Framework AQF Level 9 Directorial stage.


Responsibilities

The Senior Account Director fosters strong and collaborative client relationships, ensuring high satisfaction and driving strategic alignment with objectives. The Account Director is critical in retaining clients for the long term and growing professional fee revenue contribution for the Agency. The Senior Account Director is focused on client success, achieved through the successful implementation of impactful strategies, creative excellence, effective tactical implementation, advanced measurement and valuation models, that embody innovation to deliver outstanding results in all programs.

* Demonstrate strong influence and relationships with clients' senior executives and related stakeholders and networks
* Identify strategic opportunities and threats, issues and trends while ensuring all strategies, creative, tactical plans and measurement frameworks align to client objectives
* Ensure all activity is successful, impactful, meeting and/or exceeding client’s agreed performance metrics
* Lead client execution, implementation and account direction
* Ensure client readiness in all activities and that the quality of work exceeds clients’ expectations
* Demonstrate expert knowledge of your clients and their industries
* Develop and deliver contextual intelligence to clients that helps meet their strategic objectives
* Identify and convert opportunities to grow professional fee revenue from current and new clients
* Ensure a profitable financial framework for all managed clients aligning to the Agency’s commercial processes, objectives, targets
* Demonstrate ability to act within scope of own responsibilities

The Senior Account Director is partly responsible for leading, motivating, and developing the team, fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration.

* Demonstrate leadership excellence to all staff, moving towards the achievement of the Agency’s purpose, vision, performance benchmarks and commercial objectives
* Successfully lead your team members including time management/ effectiveness, motivation, overall productivity and morale, achieving a strong satisfaction rating for your team leadership through ongoing team feedback mechanisms
* Lead the achievement of high-performance benchmarks across your teams
* Demonstrate excellence and effectiveness in your collaboration
* Effectively deliver the HR framework for your direct reports, and support line managers in your team to complete this with their team members, too


Qualifications, Knowledge and Competencies

9+ years’ Agency experience or equivalent

Demonstration of over achievement across all facets of the Account Director role description

Advanced and integrated knowledge of:

* Communication & marketing theories & practice
* Strategy, creative, analytical thinking
* Australia / New Zealand business and geo-political landscape, society & cultures
* Client, customer & sector knowledge
* Ethical practice and social responsibility
* Technological literacy
