At Mineral Resources Limited, we are seeking a Safety Advisor to join our growing teams. The role offers a FIFO-based position (8:6 roster) across various sites, including owner-operated and client-based locations in East Pilbara, Western Australia.
The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in safety management, risk assessment, and compliance with Work Health and Safety (WHS) regulations. They will provide expert advice on all aspects of WHS, build strong relationships with site leadership, blue-collar teams, and external stakeholders.
A key responsibility of the role is to support and improve safety systems, processes, and practices aligned with corporate objectives. This includes monitoring and interpreting WHS legislation, responding to safety incidents as needed, investigating incidents, preparing detailed reports, and recommending improvements.
An additional aspect of the role is to conduct workplace inspections, identify and report hazards and unsafe conditions, manage moderately complex safety projects using sound judgment, prepare reports within required timeframes, mentor and coach staff to promote risk management processes, and maintain thorough knowledge of safety management systems.
The successful candidate will also be responsible for conducting safety audits (onsite and desktop) to identify system improvements, reviewing and updating site safety procedures, plans, and risk documents, and assisting in implementing the corporate safety strategy.
To be considered for this role, you will need to hold tertiary and/or vocational qualifications in Work Health and Safety, a current Driver's Licence, Lead Auditor Qualification (Desirable), ICAM or TAP Root Investigation Technique Qualification, Current First Aid Certificate, and previous experience as a Safety Advisor in a Crushing/Mining Services environment.
Your extensive experience in incident investigation techniques, knowledge of Risk Management and Loss Prevention techniques, and current inductions with Rio Tinto, BHP, and Roy Hill would be highly advantageous.
