About the Role
An established international engineering and manufacturing group is seeking a motivated Business Development Manager to join its growing Australian operations. This position can be based in Sydney or a regional NSW location and will service mining and heavy-industry clients across the state.
Qualifications & Experience
* Solid understanding of the submersible pump market (highly regarded)
* Minimum 5 years' proven success selling pumping equipment
* A strong existing network within relevant market sectors
* Outstanding relationship-building, interpersonal and communication skills
* Demonstrated capability in new business development, sales and negotiation
* A collaborative, team-focused approach
* Willingness and physical ability to travel frequently throughout NSW, including remote sites
* Competence with Microsoft Office and CRM systems
Key Duties & Responsibilities
* Manage sales and technical support activities across your designated region
* Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing clients
* Focus heavily on identifying and developing new business opportunities
* Meet KPI and sales targets aligned with wider company strategies
* Leverage your mining/minerals processing experience and pump knowledge, including the ability to read and interpret pump curves
* Actively prospect for new business to increase market share
* Contribute to regional sales planning and strategy
* Carry out regular face-to-face customer visits
* Assess pumping applications and duties with technical confidence
* Troubleshoot, size and select pumps and accessories
* Prepare accurate and timely quotations in line with sales and pricing policies
