CartonCloud is a SaaS company based on the Gold Coast, Australia. We're building a global product that genuinely delights our customers, helping them simplify and supercharge supply chain and logistics operations across Australia, New Zealand, and North America.
As we continue expanding internationally, our Mobile Engineering team is leading the charge in creating seamless, scalable, and innovative mobile experiences. We're looking for a Lead Software Engineer (Mobile) to drive technical leadership, mobile strategy, and architecture, while remaining hands-on in shaping the future of our apps.
Our Role
This is a high-impact, hands-on leadership role with a true "blank canvas" to influence product direction, set best practices, and embed mobile excellence in a growing SaaS business.
You'll work across complex systems (mobile, backend, and web) while focusing on architecture and backend depth to support our mobile experience. You'll provide technical leadership to guide, mentor, and upskill developers, and collaborate closely with product and business stakeholders, aligning deliverables to the broader organisation objectives.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Lead the development of the Flutter app and its integration with existing native iOS and Android apps.
* Support native app development while providing ongoing maintenance, enhancements, and support for existing systems and platforms.
* Establish and enforce best practices for mobile development.
* Mentor and coach mobile developers, lifting technical skills and team capability.
* Work closely with Product and business stakeholders to design and implement solutions that align with our strategic goals.
* Oversee triage and BAU processes, ensuring mobile issues are efficiently managed and resolved.
To be successful, we are looking for:
* 5+ years of software development experience, with at least 3 years in mobile development;
* Deep expertise in Flutter, with strong knowledge of native iOS (preferred) or Android development;
* Hands on experience with REST APIs and integrating backend services;
* Proficiency with state management solutions such as Riverpod;
* Strategic and analytical mindset with the ability to anticipate challenges, architect resilient solutions, and drive technical excellence;
* Proven expertise in core mobile application design and development frameworks is essential for success in this leadership role;
* Tertiary qualifications in computer science will be highly regarded.
