Nepean Private Hospital is seeking an experienced Environmental Services Assistant to join our team on a casual basis. You will take pride in your work, have a friendly and positive work attitude and achieve high standards of cleanliness and customer satisfaction, in this fast‐paced and varied environment across the Hospital. This role will see you cleaning a variety of areas across the Hospital including patient rooms, corporate offices, hallways, car park and outside areas. There is also the opportunity to work night shifts as a cleaner across the hospital.

Nepean Private Hospital is in the multicultural Western Sydney City of Penrith. The hospital is a modern 109‐bed facility providing a wide range of health services to the local community since 2000 including orthopaedics, spinal, gynaecology, ENT, plastics, urology and general surgery, endoscopy, cardiology, cardiac angiography and obstetrics. Nepean Private Hospital has eight operating theatres, one hybrid/cardiac catheterisation theatre and an endoscopy suite, supported by a critical care unit which includes intensive care.
As an Environmental Service Assistant your responsibilities will include:
* Maintaining high standards of cleanliness in operating theatres
* Ensuring all equipment utilised on shifts is cleaned, restocked and stored in the appropriate storage areas
* Upholding infection control standards by adhering to standard protocols and any additional precautions
* Disposing of soiled general and clinical waste
* Working in a friendly and supportive manner at all times
* Maintaining communication networks with nursing staff and other stakeholders to ensure quality clinical outcomes are achieved
* Previous cleaning experience in healthcare, hotel or airline cleaning
* Working with Children check
* Commitment to service excellence
* Proven time‐management skills and ability to manage priorities
* Strong communication and customer skills
* Work well independently and within a team
* Available for on‐call shifts including weekends
