Project Controls Change Engineer
Suburban Rail Loop (SRL) is an integrated transport infrastructure and precincts planning project that will deliver a 90km rail line linking every major train service from the Frankston Line to the Werribee Line via Melbourne Airport, as well as investment in the suburbs, better connecting Victorians to jobs, retail, education, health services and each other. Suburban Rail Loop Authority (SRLA) is the statutory body established to plan all elements of the project, procure builders, develop structure planning for SRL Precincts and oversee construction and the other changes that will help transform Melbourne and Victoria.

About the opportunity
By collaborating closely with the Engineering & Assurance, Commercial & Legal and Project Controls teams, the Project Controls Change Engineer will ensure robust governance of change processes, procedures and systems. This role is crucial not only in maintaining the current project baselines, but also in integrating and aligning all aspects of project changes to meet Suburban Rail Loop Authority's overarching project objectives.
Reporting to the Project Controls Change Manager, you will play a pivotal role in:
* Applying strong technical knowledge in the interpretation of construction drawings, design documentation, briefs and memos when assessing proposed changes.
* Collaborating with the Change Management team in updating supporting plans and procedures to reflect continuous improvement to the change management process.
* Working effectively and closely with the Suburban Rail Loop Authority team consisting of Engineering, Delivery, Project Controls, Commercial, Safety, Land Planning & Environment, Stakeholders & Communications to ensure all change impacts are effectively assessed and implemented.
* Providing directional advice and strategic guidance to Project teams and facilitating the progression of Project Changes through their review, approval and implementation stages.
* Proactively identifying potential issues and risks as well as cost and schedule impacts related to changes to ensure the successful delivery of the project program.
* Delivering and leading fortnightly presentation of proposed Changes to the Project Controls Group (PCG), ensuring clarity and alignment with project objectives.
* Conducting post-implementation reviews to validate the results of the change request while ensuring all key actions are closed.
This is an ongoing, full-time role. You will work in a hybrid work model with access to a range of flexible working arrangements.
* Demonstrated experience in coordinating and administering change management principles, methodologies and tools within large-scale infrastructure projects
* Solid technical expertise in interpreting engineering and construction drawings, plans, estimates, schedules and risks to assess infrastructure and operational impacts of changes
* Outstanding stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to negotiate and influence key internal and external stakeholders
* Highly developed written and verbal communication skills to clearly articulate complex correspondence to a variety of audiences
* Strong computer literacy, especially proficiency in using change management systems to optimize project outcomes
* A relevant engineering or construction management qualification and demonstrated experience working in a Change Coordinator position
* Experience using Microsoft 365, IBM Engineering Workflow Management and ProjectWise (desirable)
