The Senior Environmental Advisor will play a key role in driving environmental compliance, sustainability performance and continuous improvement across the Queensland Train Manufacturing Programme at the Ormeau Rail Facility. Working closely with operational teams, project leadership, subcontractors and client stakeholders, you will help ensure environmental obligations are effectively managed while promoting practical, proactive environmental outcomes across site operations.
Responsibilities
* Support and drive environmental compliance across project activities in line with approvals, legislation and DTI management systems
* Lead environmental inspections, audits, incident investigations and corrective action closeout processes
* Maintain and improve environmental management plans, systems, registers and project reporting requirements
* Partner with operational teams and subcontractors to identify environmental risks and implement practical controls
* Deliver environmental training, communications and site engagement initiatives to build awareness and accountability
* Support sustainability reporting, performance tracking and continuous improvement initiatives across the project
Qualifications
* Proven environmental advisory experience within construction, infrastructure, transport, energy or similarly complex project environments
* Strong understanding of environmental legislation, compliance obligations and environmental management systems
* Experience conducting audits, inspections, incident investigations and environmental risk management activities
* Strong stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to influence project teams, subcontractors and client representatives
* Relevant qualifications in environmental science, engineering, sustainability or a related discipline
* A practical, proactive and solutions‐focused approach with strong communication and organisational skills
