In this role, you'll lead a high-performing team that manages operational risk profiles and develops effective risk controls, with a robust emphasis on automation and digital solutions. You'll embed quality assurance frameworks across the organisation and drive continuous improvement, ensuring that risk and quality practices evolve with the needs of the business. A key part of your work will be championing the use of technology, data, and automation to improve the design, testing, and reporting of risk controls. You'll collaborate with senior stakeholders to align initiatives with strategic objectives and build capability across the business, fostering a proactive and resilient risk culture. The role also involves leading regular risk assessments, audits, and control validation activities, with a focus on delivering measurable outcomes that strengthen the organisation’s overall performance.

About You
You are an accomplished leader in operational risk and quality assurance, known for delivering practical, business-focused solutions, ideally within commercial insurance or a similarly regulated sector. You offer:
- Proven ability to modernise risk management by using automation, data, and digital tools to strengthen controls and deliver measurable impact.
- Strong knowledge of risk frameworks and quality standards (such as ISO 9001), with experience adapting them to suit organisational needs and driving innovative solutions.
- Recognised for thought leadership in the risk or insurance sector through published work, speaking engagements, or industry involvement.
- Skilled at leading change, mentoring others, and building effective cross-functional collaboration.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to communicate complex concepts clearly and influence senior leaders.
- A commitment to continuous improvement, backed by a growth mindset and meticulous attention to detail.
