Come and be a part of Melbourne's most innovative and critically-acclaimed gelato business. We’re looking for an experienced Kitchen Hand to join Pidapipo’s production team.
This role presents an amazing opportunity for a motivated and ambitious production specialist to assist us in our daily operations at Pidapipo Laboratorio. We’re looking for an all-rounder who can put their skills and experience to use in every aspect of the business, including collaborating with the chocolatiers and gelato chefs.
Responsibilities
- Production: Operate and monitor equipment involved in gelato production, including mixers, pasteurizers, batch freezers, and packaging machines.
- Recipe Execution: Prepare gelato mixtures according to precise recipes and formulas, ensuring consistency in taste and texture.
- Production: Ensure production targets are met efficiently.
- Cleanings: Perform daily and scheduled cleanings as instructed.
- Stock Management: Monitor stock levels and inform direct supervisors in case of stock shortage. Record accurately stock usage, and perform scheduled stock count.
- Logistics: Complete daily deliveries to our stores and events, when required.
What you'll bring
- Experience: Proven experience in a food manufacturing environment or commercial kitchen preferably. Experience with equipment operation and maintenance is highly desirable.
- Technical Skills: Familiarity with food processing equipment, including mixers.
- Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail to ensure precise measurement of ingredients, adherence to recipes, and accurate recording of production data.
- Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment, supporting colleagues and contributing to a positive work culture.

Availability
This position is available immediately, starting with a few shifts a week, increasing over the summer period.
