APS5 Procurement Officer in a non-ICT corporate procurement team

You will join a Federal Government organisation known for its supportive culture and commitment to high‑quality corporate outcomes. Working within a small procurement function of two, you will contribute to the delivery of effective and compliant purchasing activities across the agency.
Your new role
As the APS5 Procurement Officer, you will support end‑to‑end non‑ICT procurement activity in line with the Commonwealth Procurement Rules (CPRs). This role will see you:
* Assist with coordinating and managing non‑ICT procurement processes
* Prepare documentation including RFQs, evaluation material, contract variations and purchasing plans
* Support contract management activities, recordkeeping and reporting
* Provide advice to internal stakeholders on procurement processes and compliance
* Contribute to continuous improvement in procurement practices and templates
This position is available as a non‑ongoing contract or permanent transfer (ideal).
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful, you must have:
* Previous experience working within the Australian Federal Government
* Working knowledge of the Commonwealth Procurement Rules (CPRs)
* Strong written communication skills and attention to detail
* Ability to work in a small, collaborative team environment
* Procurement experience is highly desirable but not essential for candidates with the right foundational skills
