Deputy Principal Secondary ACIP - Peel High School

Peel High School, situated on Gomeroi Country in Tamworth, is one of four public high schools in the city. Our current enrolment of 660 students includes 53% Aboriginal students.

In April 2022, Peel High School joined the Connected Communities Strategy, which focuses on strengthening educational outcomes for Aboriginal students and all students. Engagement in the strategy aims to bring the community closer to the school and enables collaboration with government and non-government organisations to support the education and wellbeing of our students. With the addition of our Senior Leader Community Engagement position, Peel High School continues to build and strengthen connections with parents and carers, community groups, the Tamworth Local Aboriginal Education Consultative Group, and external agencies to meet the needs of our students and families.

Our school is part of the NSW Selective School system and offers a selective stream in each junior year group. Peel High School is recognised for the success of its partnerships and transition programs. We have seven support classes. Our stage‑based classes support students to achieve outcomes in a differentiated learning environment, with consistent staffing and a dedicated School Learning Support Officer in each classroom.

Peel High School has a renowned Agricultural Program featuring cattle, pigs and sheep. The introduction of the Targeted Sports Program in 2026 is an exciting addition to our curriculum. At Peel High School, culture is embedded in our way of life.
