New Venue Opening in Campbell
Exciting new experience for those who want to put a powerful stamp on a new Cafe that is opening in Campbell, just before Anzac Day. The venue fell previously on hard times and now a completely brand new Cafe is growing and aiming to be vibrant and different, with a focus of bringing a parisian sidewalk cafe atmosphere to the area.
With the menu still being built - so your chance to add your own spin to it, with an emphasis on European style themes from french, italian, german, spanish and UK cuisines, along with classics, and the upcoming Anzac Day Dawn Service coming quick, it will be a strong test of your culinary skills and allow you to make your mark on the kitchen from day one.
What you’ll be doing
* Jumping in the deep end on a busy cafe kitchen
* 2 roles are preparing and delivering breakfast dishes (on roster) and expanding (if interested) to lunch delights.
* Providing fast turnaround on food, for both takeaway and dining-in patrons.
Note, the cafe is initially opening for takeaway only, with dining-in coming in mid-May for dinner.
* Setting kitchen standards and maintaining cafe policies.
* Guiding other staff as required and being a escalation point for issues when management are not available.
* Keeping prep systems tight, waste low, and the kitchen spotless & safe
What we’re looking for
* For most roles, at least 1 year experience as a Chef, preferably with breakfast and lunch favourites, but if dinner options are good also
* High-volume kitchen experience serving breakfast/lunch goodies, often paired with FoH drinks such as coffee(s). Dinner will be paired with wine and spirits.
* Confident with adhering to menu, adjusting to changes, and modern cafe service
* Able to show leadership and mentor juniors as required, along with assist management
* Strong prep & organisation skills, calm under pressure
* Excellent food safety and allergen awareness (HAACP)
* Flexible availability across a 6-day venue (may move to 7-day depending on patronage)

* Venue open: 6 days, 7:30am – 9:30pm
* Kitchen service: 7am – 9pm
