As the Safety, Emergency and Risk Team Leader, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping how safety, emergency preparedness and risk management are embedded across Council. You'll Work With a Great Team To
* Lead and strengthen Council's workplace health and safety, emergency management and enterprise risk frameworks to ensure compliance, preparedness and continuous improvement
* Drive a proactive safety culture, partnering with leaders and teams across Council to identify risks, influence behaviours and embed strong practices
* Oversee emergency management and response planning, including liaison with external emergency services and key stakeholders
* Lead, mentor and support a dedicated Safety, Emergency and Risk team to deliver meaningful outcomes
* Analyse data, incidents and trends to inform strategy, improve performance and shape future safety initiatives
What You'll Bring
* Bachelor's degree in work health and safety, Risk Management or a related field, or demonstrated relevant experience equivalent to such qualifications
* Demonstrated experience developing, implementing and maintaining WHS management systems in complex environments
* Proven ability to lead and influence others, including managing teams and working with diverse stakeholders
* Strong knowledge of WHS legislation, emergency management and risk practices, with the ability to apply them practically
* Excellent communication and relationship‐building skills, with experience driving change and continuous improvement
We Would Also Love You To Have
* Experience in emergency management, including planning and working with emergency service agencies
* Exposure to local government or the public sector
* Experience integrating enterprise risk management with WHS frameworks

This position offers an attractive annual salary ranging from $104,751 to $132,086 (pending qualifications). A leaseback vehicle is also available.
