Accountant Role Overview
This position involves working as an Assistant Accountant, providing support to the Finance Team in delivering their obligations. The role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles and the ability to analyze financial data accurately.
The primary responsibility will be to assist in the accurate costing of Labour Hire services used by dnata catering & retail. This involves liaising with internal stakeholders and external service providers, reconciling invoices, and checking for accuracy. Additional accounting tasks may be assigned as required, primarily related to the month-end process.
The successful candidate will have demonstrated success in a similar role, holding a tertiary degree in Finance or Accountancy, and possessing Intermediate to Advanced Excel skills. They will also have experience in applying accounting standards and principles, as well as strong problem-solving skills and analytical approach.

Key Responsibilities:
* Liaise with Workforce Planning (WFP) and Port Business Managers (BM's) to understand LH hours worked, sign-off, and communication through SP's.
* Understand Finance's internal cost coding structure.
* Identify ways to improve reporting or processes for other teams.
* Request usable reports for all invoices from SP's (if not already supplied).
* Learn Converga (AP software) and other relevant systems.
* Check invoices comply with correct rates, correct costings, and correct hours worked, plus other possible issues.
* Raise queries internally and externally to remedy issues. Raise systemic issues or risks in a timely manner.
* Undertake other Finance tasks as assigned, likely related to month-end processes.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* Demonstrated success in a similar role.
* Tertiary degree in Finance or Accountancy.
* CPA/CA qualifications preferred but not required.
* Experience in applying accounting standards and principles.
* Intermediate to Advanced Excel skills.
* Ability to multitask and work with minimum supervision.
* Strong problem-solving skills and analytical approach.
* Excellent interpersonal skills and organizational/time management skills.
* Ability to handle challenging situations with tact and diplomacy.
