About The Role
Based in our Austral Monsoon Building Products office located in Carole Park Qld, we are seeking an Assistant Accountant with previous accounting experience who wants to work with other like-minded, enthusiastic people in our team. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will be responsible for the effective management of all functions in the Accounting and Finance.
Further, you will be responsible for:
* Ensure the accurate and timely presentation of the monthly results, by posting standing journals, payroll, leasing, netting, prepayments, and accruals.
* Assist the Operations team with Daily, weekly and monthly Manufacturing and Inventory reports/analysis
* Monitor AP/AR transactions to ensure they are recorded correctly and in a timely manner
* Assist in preparation of Annual Budget and Quarterly Forecasts.
* Oversee daily and monthly bank reconciliations.
* Ensuring General Ledger Balance Sheet accounts are reconciled & actioned monthly.
* Assist with the preparation of company income tax returns, BAS, PAYG, FBT and payroll tax
* Ensure withholding tax payment is payable by due date.
* Intercompany transactions reconciliation
* Assist finance Manager with month-end close and reporting
* Investigation and follow up of payment issues.
* Fixed asset register maintenance & insurance
* Assist with internal audits & financial year-end audits
About You
We are seeking someone who has strong attention to detail, effective communication skills, and the ability to work well with systems and procedures. To be successful in this role you will have the following:
* Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience.
* Experience in the manufacturing or construction related industry is preferred.
* Familiarity with Australian or international accounting standards
* Solid understanding of relevant tax regulations, including GST, PAYG and Payroll Tax
* Experience with an ERP system i.e., preferably Microsoft AX
* Advanced Microsoft Office Suite.
