Role Description

This is a full‐time, hybrid Business Development Manager role based in Richmond Melbourne, VIC. The Business Development Manager will identify and pursue new business opportunities with architects, designers, developers, and Project Marketers to expand the company's trade client base and project pipeline. Responsibilities include managing the end‐to‐end sales cycle, from prospecting and lead qualification to presenting proposals, negotiating terms, and closing deals. The role involves maintaining and growing relationships with existing clients, collaborating with showroom teams and interior designers to develop tailored solutions, and representing the brand at client meetings, design presentations, and industry events. The Business Development Manager will also initiate and host trade events in our Melbourne showroom. Our BDM will monitor market trends, prepare sales forecasts and reports, and provide feedback to leadership on opportunities for growth and service improvement.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience of at least 5 years in business development, sales, or account management, ideally within luxury furniture, interior design, property development, or related design‐focused industries.
  • Strong network of Trade operating in the High end of the Market.
  • relationship‐building and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage architects, designers, developers, and other Trade clients professionally.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation abilities, with confidence in leading client meetings and closing high‐value deals.
  • Commercial acumen and strategic thinking, including experience with pipeline management, sales forecasting, and meeting revenue targets.
  • Good understanding or strong interest in luxury interiors, furniture design, and design trends; ability to translate client needs into tailored design and product solutions.
  • Highly organized, self‐motivated, and proactive, with the ability to manage multiple opportunities and deadlines in a fast‐paced environment.
  • Comfort working on‐site in a showroom and client‐facing environment, including occasional after‐hours events or client visits as required.
  • Proficiency with CRM systems and basic MS Office or similar tools for reporting, proposals, and client communication.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in business, marketing, design, or a related field are advantageous but not essential when supported by strong industry experience.
  • Legal right to work in Australia and the ability to travel locally for client meetings and site visits as needed.
